About The
indigenous INCUBATOR FOUNDATION

Rooted in Culture. Built for Impact. Focused on Indigenous Futures.

The Indigenous Incubator Foundation (IIF) is a federally incorporated not-for-profit dedicated to creating real, lasting opportunities for Indigenous youth and communities across Alberta.

We exist to close the gaps that private industry and conventional systems have failed to address—through culturally grounded, skill-focused, and future-driven programming.

Our work is not just about employment.
It’s about restoring agency, building leadership, and igniting economic self-determination.

Our STORY

The Indigenous Incubator Foundation was created to respond to a critical need: Indigenous peoples across Alberta deserve equitable access to employment, entrepreneurship, and trades training opportunities that honour their identity and potential.

Too often, Indigenous youth face systemic barriers to meaningful work and sustainable careers. IIF bridges that gap—with culturally affirming training, life-skills support, mentorship, and pathways into high-demand industries.

Our programs are designed to meet people where they are—whether in urban centres like Calgary or in rural and remote communities—offering holistic services that support not just employment, but long-term success and cultural confidence.

The Principles that
GUIDE US

Our work is deeply rooted in Indigenous teachings passed down through oral traditions and ceremonies. These values are central to how we conduct business, build relationships, and create impact.

These teachings, shared by our team and reflected upon through personal experience, serve as a foundation for decision-making and integrity. We believe that integrity is earned through living these principles:

WISDOM

The thoughtful application of knowledge to live a balanced life.

Love

Compassion and care for others, ourselves, and the world around us.

respect

A deep regard for people, nature, and all living beings.

BRAVERY

The courage to do what is right, even when it’s difficult.

HONESTY

Truthfulness and trustworthiness in our actions and words.

Humility

Recognizing our place within a larger whole and showing gratitude.

TRUTH

Living authentically and embracing our history and experiences.

BALANCE

Honoring our connection to the Earth and all living things.
